Paul Mengert’s commitment to education can’t be denied. Over more than three decades, dozens of local Greensboro companies have sent executives to the Management Development Program at the Harvard Business School Alumni Association of Charlotte, North Carolina. He teaches classes for them, and he feels like that is a boon for the local community. The companies who have made use of his services include prominent organizations like Microsoft and Pfizer, in addition to AMG.

A major focus for Paul Mengert, AMG (Association Management Group) founder and current CEO, is to make sure that his homeowners’ association management training company provides homeowners’ association with the best learning experience possible. AMG offers a compact version of a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) program and the classes are taught by alumni of the prestigious Harvard Business School, who live in his community of Greensboro, North Carolina. Paul Mengert’s choice of Greensboro as the company’s base represents his commitment to the community where he has spent virtually his entire life.

For Paul Mengert, it wasn’t enough that he was born in North Carolina or that he was raised and educated in the state. He also chose to continue his education beyond high school and into college there, earning a degree in political science from the renowned University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 1984. Mengert appreciated his home so much, even his hometown of Greensboro, that he began a business there that same year, and founded Association Management Group -- a company that would assist homeowners groups and other properties in the management and operations of their assets. The business grew and flourished, opening five satellite offices across both North and South Carolina over the years. Today, with more than 30,000 managed properties across the states, Mengert serves as its CEO and continues operations from his beloved hometown of Greensboro, which still acts as AMG’s headquarters.
